Who is installing your closet shelving?

The dogpile

Does your closet look like this?

So you have stuff.  Lots of stuff.  And your stuff needs a neat and organized home.  Where do you start?  There are guys around Augusta that buy wire shelving from Lowe’s and cut it with bolt cutters out of the back of their truck.  And there are also trim carpenters that can cut a 90 degree angle with a table saw like nobody’s business, but don’t know the first thing about distributing weight on a hanging rod.  And then there’s Carpenters in the Home, with 26 years of design, fabrication and installation experience; an impressive website, showroom and warehouse; and bulk buying power that extends great savings to customers.  There is a difference, people!  If you want quality craftsmanship with impeccable customer service, choose Carpenters.

THEY:   buy retail wire shelving, install only “stock” melamine boxes, install unsightly (and non-adjustable) plywood with no true quality assurance, offer no accessory or hardware options; have minimal to no design credentials (creating wasted space)

Misuse of space

Imagine sliding your clothes hangers on these rods… Wasted material=wasted money AND wasted valuable hanging space

About Us

Carpenters In the Home, Inc. is a local family-owned business; providing closets, shower enclosures, mirrors and bath accessory packages for builders and remodelers in the Augusta-Aiken area.

We began operation in January, 1986, as Closets, Etc., selling and installing ClosetMaid wire shelving to a few builders. Our first shop was in a rented garage, and the office was the kitchen table. In 1987 we expanded our product lines to include shower enclosures, bath accessories and mirrors. We hired our first helper (he’s still with us), and changed our name to Carpenters In the Home, Inc. (no pun intended). Its who we are, not what we do. After a couple of growth moves to rented warehouses, we purchased land and built our permanent, 18,000 sq. ft. business home on Columbia Industrial Blvd. in 1994.

Recognizing growing trends in custom closets, we tried the pre-packaged system in our home. Their plastic cams split, causing the closet shelves to pull away from the walls. The sizes were limited, shipping costs were high and turn-around time was never dependable. So, Pop put on his engineering cap and devised our own unique system. We bit the bullet and purchased the necessary equipment to build our own truly custom closets. That step allows us the ability to offer a quality job, for less money (no freight or franchise costs) in a faster time frame.

Through the years we have built loyal, long term relationships with the areas leading builders and contractors, who share our commitment to integrity, quality, value and service. Our builders know that their customers will get the personal attention they need from the Carpenter family. We meet with their customers on the job site to discuss functional closet design, bath accessory placement and selection, custom shower layout and offer suggestions for mirror selections. Our showroom is by appointment so our customers are assured they have our undivided attention.

In addition to Mom & Pop and sons and daughters, the Carpenter Work family consists of 12 loyal, knowledgeable, looooong-time employees. Our many years of experience assures our customers that they are getting the best quality of service, materials and installation, at a competitive price. We stand behind our work, always. We continue to grow our business with that in mind.
